PWA Planning prepared, submitted and managed the planning application for 51 affordable homes, working with Mulbury Homes and One Vision Housing.



What we did

PWA Planning was instructed by Mulbury Homes to advise on a planning application for a 100 per cent affordable housing scheme on behalf of One Vision Housing at a site in Euxton, Chorley.

The proposals would deliver 51 affordable homes, with a mix of one-bedroom apartments and two, three and four-bedroom houses, for affordable rent and shared ownership within the administrative area of Chorley Council.

The site had formerly been granted planning consent for 37 dwellings in 2017. The challenge was therefore to demonstrate the site could accommodate a larger number of smaller units, and the associated impacts as a result.

PWA’s undertook pre-application discussions with the council and prepared, submitted and managed the planning application. Given the proximity of the site to a local church, we also led discussions with local stakeholders to answer their queries and provide technical information to address concerns relating to drainage. PWA liaised with the council throughout the determination period with the application gaining a recommendation for approval at planning committee. PWA spoke in support of the application at committee which saw the proposals approved.
