A striking new apartment building for Preston Marina has moved a step closer after the proposals gained outline planning consent.
PWA Planning has advised on the planning application for the four to eight-storey development of 39 apartments on land off Maritime Way.
The development, which consists of a mix of one and two-bedroom properties, will provide stunning views over the marina and River Ribble.
It will also feature communal areas including an entrance foyer, a residents’ garden, and undercroft parking and cycle storage.
Matt Wyatt, senior planner at PWA Planning, said: “The development will provide a contemporary landmark building for Preston marina while also complementing existing residential development in the area.
“We’re pleased to have been able to support our client’s aspirations for this scheme which will further regenerate the docklands area. We look forward to working alongside the project team as more detailed designs are brought forward.”
The apartments are proposed for a site adjacent to an existing apartments building known as The Point. The new building will be finished predominantly in brick with cladding to the top two floors and large aluminium windows and doors to make the most of the surrounding views.
