PWA wins planning for new Lancaster homes

PWA Planning has helped to secure outline planning consent on behalf of Story Homes for a scheme of 90 homes in the village of Halton, near Lancaster.

The 13-acre site, which lies between Low Road and Forge Lane near to the River Lune, is currently used as agricultural land for pasture.

Story Homes will build a mix of two to four bedroom homes on the site. Some of the homes will be designated as affordable housing.

Louise Leyland, associate at PWA Planning, said: “We are pleased to have secured this outline planning consent on behalf of Story Homes. Lancaster is in need of new housing and this will provide a good mix of high quality homes in a sustainable location.”

The outline planning application was approved by Lancaster City Council’s planning committee on May 8. Croft Transport Solutions also advised on the transport planning aspects of the scheme.
