PWA welcomes Chartered Town Planner Daniel Hughes to team

Dan Hughes

PWA Planning has welcomed Chartered Town Planner Daniel Hughes to the team as a senior planner.

Daniel graduated from The University of Manchester in 2009 with a Master of Town Planning qualification, and has since become a full member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Daniel comes to PWA Planning from CH2M HILL in Warrington where he built up a specialism within infrastructure planning, working alongside the Highways Agency, United Utilities and the Environment Agency, and advising clients on a wide range of development projects from initial appraisal through to construction and operation.

Prior to this Daniel was a senior development officer with the wind energy developer ‘Wind Direct’, based in Lancaster. Daniel managed several wind energy schemes, some of which had considerable environmental issues.

These projects required a high level of detailed preparation and co-ordination with many stakeholders and supporting consultants. Public relations were particularly important where applications were controversial, involving public consultations and exhibitions, meetings and bespoke websites.

Director of PWA Planning, Paul Walton, said: “I feel sure Daniel will be a great asset to PWA Planning and to our clients, bringing considerable planning experience, within the wind energy sector in particular, and with excellent public relations skills.”
