PWA secures four new housing planning approvals

PWA Planning has helped gain planning permission for four new residential developments on behalf of its clients.

We’ve secured a planning consent on behalf of Anwyl Homes Lancashire for 82 homes and landscaping improvements at Mere Grange, Leaside, St Helens. The development, on 3.5 hectares of open land, will offer a mix of three and four-bedroom properties.

The team has also gained approval for two projects in East Lancashire on behalf of Burnley-based registered housing provider Calico Homes.

The first is a development of 24 two-bedroom bungalows on land off Florence Avenue, Burnley, which includes improvement works to existing public open space.

The second consent is for a development of 45 homes, a mix of houses and apartments, on land off Station Road, Padiham. The latter will see phases four and five of a wider strategic housing development completed.

Finally, we’ve assisted Bradford Street Developments in gaining consent for 26 apartments in Bradford Street, Walsall, in the West Midlands.

This development, situated in a conservation area close to Walsall town centre, will bring back a classically-styled four-storey building to a site that’s been vacant for more than a decade following the deterioration of previous Georgian buildings.

Emily Robinson, senior planner at PWA Planning, said: “We’re delighted to be helping our clients get these developments moving. Between them they offer a broad mix of quality homes for both the affordable and open market sectors, as well as regenerating and enhancing local communities.

“The schemes demonstrate our wide-ranging expertise in residential planning, including advising on heritage and conservation issues, affordable housing provision, community involvement and section 106 negotiations.”

All four schemes were granted planning consent at their respective committees on Thursday, March 21.
