PWA assists EG Group’s plans in Shropshire

PWA Planning has helped forecourt services operator EG Group gain planning approval for a new site close to a Shropshire business park.

EG Group has received permission to create a petrol filling station, retail kiosk and drive through coffee shop development on a three-hectare site at Thieves Lane, Shrewsbury Business Park.

The company hopes to create up to 45 jobs at the site which is adjacent to the A5 on one of the main routes into Shrewsbury.

PWA also advised on planning consent for a new internal estate road that will provide access to the site and a new Jaguar Land Rover dealership to be built next door.

Outline planning consent was also gained for a new two-storey office park featuring five separate buildings and parking for 243 cars. This will enable a second phase of development later.

Emily Robinson, senior planner at PWA Planning, said: “We’re pleased to be playing our role in EG Group’s ongoing growth, delivering a scheme that will also provide the infrastructure for further expansion of Shrewsbury Business Park.

“The new operation will contribute to ongoing economic regeneration and growth in the area, further strengthening the local economy with new jobs and complementing surrounding land uses.”

EG Group hopes to start work on the site and be fully operational in 2019.
