Pub to homes plan given green light

Preston based planning consultancy PWA Planning, on behalf of Pembroke Homes, has secured detailed planning permission for eight new homes on the site of a former public house off Beacon Road in Romiley, Stockport.

Pembroke Homes has an enviable reputation for building some of the most sought after family dwellings in the local area and these homes are expected to be in great demand due to their location within a highly sought-after residential area.

Representing one of a number of recent similar schemes for Pembroke Homes, the development will help to regenerate a site where the current use as a pub has proven to be no longer viable.

PWA Planning led thorough negotiations with the council and local stakeholders throughout the application. The proposals were unanimously approved by members of the area committee following a positive recommendation from officers.

Richard Newman of Goyt Construction, who will manage the project for Pembroke Homes, commented: “This is an important approval for the local area, the application site comprises a pub which is no longer viable and was recently vacated by the landlord. We are delighted in the way Katie Delaney of PWA Planning has negotiated a deliverable planning permission which will allow for high quality family homes and look forward to getting started on site as soon as possible.”
