A planning application has been submitted for 283 new family homes in the Lea area of Preston.
Based on a parcel of land to the west of Lea Road, the proposed Story Homes development sits adjacent to Preston’s main strategic growth housing area and is also close to the forthcoming new Cottam Parkway railway station.
Comprising a mix of two, three, four and five-bedroom detached, semi-detached and mews houses, the development also features one-bedroom apartments for sale on the open market.
The hybrid planning application, which includes a full planning application for 163 properties and outline planning for 120 homes, has been submitted on behalf of Story Homes by North West planning consultancy PWA Planning.
The scheme has been designed sensitively with the local area in mind, with architectural details and a palette of materials carefully selected to reflect the style of properties neighbouring the 35-acre site.
The proposals also include the creation of new public open spaces, including a children’s play area.
Louise Leyland, associate at PWA Planning, said: “We’re pleased to be working in partnership with Story Homes to bring forward these exciting proposals that will help bring to life a vibrant new neighbourhood in this area of Preston.”
Martin Nugent, Senior Land Manager for Story Homes in the North West, said: “It’s been a pleasure to work with PWA on this planning application. This is a key site for us as we continue with our growth plans in Preston following the success of our current developments in the area, D’Urton Manor and Waterside.”
