Plans for new PNE training centre go on display

Proposals for a new first-team training centre for Preston North End Football Club have gone on display.

PWA Planning is working closely with architecture practice FWP to advise the club on its full planning application for the development, which has now been submitted.

The motivation behind the relocation of the training facility to the Ingol golf course site is to support the club’s ambition to play at the highest tier of English football. The club requires training facilities of the highest standard to attract and retain professional players who can perform at the top level.

The display will be available to view from 11th February until 11th March in the Sir Tom Finney Stand reception at the stadium. There will be a drop-in exhibition event between 10am and 1pm on the Thursdays and Fridays within the above dates.

Daniel Hughes, senior planner at PWA Planning, said: “This is an exciting opportunity for the club and we’re proud to be working as part of the planning and design team to bring forward this planning application. Giving local people an opportunity to view and comment on these proposals for the PNE training centre is a vital part of the process and we look forward to hearing what they have to say.”

At the exhibition, the public will be able to a view a 3D model up close and provide any comments on the proposed development. Additionally, the exhibition will also be accessible between 10am and 12pm on Saturday 25th February and Saturday 11th March, to give as many people as possible the chance to take a look.

The intention is for the first team to be training at the facility in time for the 2018/19 season and therefore being occupied in August 2018. Construction is targeted to be commenced on site as soon as possible.

Anyone is welcome to give their thoughts on the proposals for the PNE training centre and this can be done by visiting the above display, or by downloading a feedback form and sending this back to the club.
