Planning secured for new forecourt services at Pride Park

PWA Planning has helped gain planning permission for a new drive-through coffee shop and petrol filling station on a prominent site in Derby.

International forecourts operator EG Group will develop the site of a former gas storage facility opposite Derby County Football Club’s Pride Park stadium and Derby Arena.

Matt Wyatt, senior planner at PWA Planning, commented: “We’re once again pleased to be supporting EG Group’s continued expansion in the UK.

“This latest development is in a perfect spot for an EG site lying in a well-established industrial area with lots of businesses, great footfall and excellent transport links on the busy A6 Pride Parkway.”

As well as the coffee shop and filling station, the new development also includes a retail shop, hot food outlet and 44 parking spaces and a cycle storage area. It will also offer improved pedestrian access, linking the site to major bus route on the A6.

The development will fill the southern half of the former gas storage site with the northern part of the site being retained for further development.

EG Group expects to create 24 full-time and 20 part-time jobs with the new scheme.
