Planning approval for new Story Homes development

PWA Planning has helped Story Homes gain outline planning consent for a development of 125 homes in Barton, North Preston.

The new development will be created on a five-hectare site off Jepps Lane to the east of the A6 Garstang Road.

Featuring a mix of house types, the proposals also include the creation of an arrival green, three additional areas of public open space, along with tree planting and landscaping.

35% of the properties in the development will be made available for the affordable housing market.

Louise Leyland, associate at PWA Planning, said: “We’re proud to be working with Story Homes to support the creation of new homes in this part of Preston.

“Being close to existing homes to the immediate south and west of the site, and next to a farmstead to the immediate North, the site provides a natural extension to the village of Barton and will provide high quality homes that are in keeping with the local area.”

Preston City Council’s planning committee approved the new homes on December 5.
