Green light for new seaside hotel in St Annes

Planning permission has been granted for an award-winning hotel company to extend and refurbish two neighbouring St Annes hotels to create one larger property.

The Inn Collection Group will bring the Edwardian-era Lindum and Carlton Hotels on South Promenade together, creating a single hotel with 100 en-suite bedrooms, a bar and restaurant, and a large front terrace seating and dining area.

North West planning consultancy PWA Planning secured full planning permission for the development on behalf of The Inn Collection Group, which will complete a full internal refurbishment and external facelift for the two properties which were built in the 1920s.

The new hotel will offer high-quality accommodation and dining facilities as part of The Inn Collection Group’s growing portfolio of properties. It will be the company’s first property in Lancashire, adding to its 19 other properties throughout the North of England.

Matthew Wyatt, associate at PWA Planning, said: “These are exciting plans that will create a stunning new seafront hotel and at the same time breathe new life into these important Edwardian buildings, protecting them for the future.

“The Inn Collection Group has an impressive record in acquiring and revitalising hotel properties, and I’m sure they will make this project a resounding success, capitalising on the ever-growing demand for quality holiday accommodation in the UK.”

Chris Walpole, project manager for The Inn Collection Group, commented: “We’re thrilled to have acquired these properties in St Annes and to be bringing forward these exciting proposals. This will be our first project in Lancashire and we’re looking forward to giving future guests and diners The Inn Collection Group experience.”

The Inn Collection Group is based in the North East of England and boats an enviable portfolio of properties across the North of England, including Northumberland, County Durham, Tyne and Wear, The Lake District and Yorkshire.
