Members of our Energy Planning team have been involved in a high-level debate on combining renewables and storage at a major sector conference in London.
Louise Leyland, Graeme Thorpe and Sharon Thomas attended Renewable UK’s Grid & Storage 2024 event, with Louise also taking part in a panel discussion on the wider deployment of collocated assets in the UK.
Louise joined some of the industry’s leading voices on energy storage to discuss the further steps the UK needs to take to enable collocation and how industry and government can work together to achieve it.
Louise commented: “It was great to spend time with our peers in the renewables and energy storage sector to share our experiences and collectively to help shape the future of the UK’s net zero grid.
“Our energy landscape is undergoing an unprecedented transformation and it was useful to gain a better understanding of the further significant changes happening to our grid infrastructure over the coming years as we race towards net zero.”
PWA’s Energy Planning division has handled planning for almost 140 renewables-based projects since being launched in 2021, including energy storage, solar and wind energy developments.
Grid & Storage 2024 was held at IET London, Savoy Place in the City of Westminster on May 2 and was attended by hundreds of representatives from the renewables sector.
